Calculating affordability
Case Study
My role
As the sole UX designer, I was responsible for providing input and support to two engineering squads (web and mobile).
Delivering designs
With successful design testing complete, my focus then shifted to creating production-ready designs.
As new components were set to be introduced into the design system, a significant portion of my effort was dedicated to developing guidelines and documentation outlining the expected behaviours for these items.
This helped to ensure consistency across all platforms.
Final outcome
The deliverable successfully fulfilled its purpose of providing an opinionated and highly-adopted productised loan calculation tool out-of-the-box.
Our sales and customer success teams continue to provide positive feedback on its design, and no requests for fixes (RFFs) have been generated for it thus far.
End-user impact
From a user-centric position, ensuring that the re-design could help users could achieve their goals, was just as important as delivering on the business goals.
As well as helping us to refine the design (ahead of build), our testing activities also gave us the following outputs which supported and strengthened the decision to re-design the functionality.
